Helmet is a turn of the century A. Schrader commercial, made sometime before 1905.

Roy Butler was a diver in the US Navy during WWII and after the war ran a salvage company.

Several times daily a Marine Studio staff diver goes down to feed many of the larger specimens by hand. Marine Studios is located 18 miles south of St. Augustine on the new Ocean Shore Boulevard (Florida #140)

Helmet is a SNEAD style 2 shallow water hat, which 1st appeared in the 1934 Willis catalog.

This painting of ” TREASURE DIVER” by George Wilhelms, hangs in MCKEE’S MUSEUM OF SUNKEN TREASURE at TREASURE HARBOR, PLANTATION KEY, FLORIDA. It depicts ARTHUR MCKEE, a DEEP SEA DIVER, at work on his discovery of the wreck of an ancient SPANISH GALLEON which sank off PLANTATION KEY in 1733.

Helmet is the US Navy MK V, which was the official helmet of the Navy from 1916-1984. Four companies produced this helmet during the war (Morse, Schrader, DESCO, Miller-Dunn).
